So, I recently had this super fun senior session with a laid-back guy from West Monroe, Louisiana, and honestly, it was such a good time. You know how some high school seniors can be a little nervous in front of the camera? This guy was the complete opposite—just totally relaxed, which made capturing those genuine moments a breeze. We found some really cool spots around downtown Monroe that perfectly matched his rugged vibe, like this awesome alley and a few side streets that gave off that timeless feel.
We chatted about everything from hobbies to plans for after graduation while snapping away. I loved how he brought his own style to the session, rocking a simple T-shirt and jeans, which felt authentic to who he is. The laid-back atmosphere made it easy to capture those little moments—like that huge grin when he talked about his relationships, job and family. Plus, having his mom, Laura, there to make silly faces and jokes made an awesome memory. And honestly, those candid shots became some of my favorites. There's just something about capturing a young man right on the cusp of stepping into his future that feels so special.
As the sun began to set, we chased the light and found the best spots to give a bit of an edge to those classic portraits. Being able to mix some masculine elements with that relaxed vibe really made these images pop. I could see him flipping through these photos in a few years and remembering not just his senior year, but the excitement and that cool sense of adventure that comes with it. It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do—getting to showcase these milestones in a way that's personal and true to each individual's story.
