Family portraits tend to be seasonal, working around the holidays, weather, and needs of the family. The best gift you can give a parent is a portrait of her kids/family with her in it. I thoroughly believe you are not required to take family portraits every season, or even year for that matter, but I do recommend it as seasons change and families grow. You might look back and wish you had beautiful portraits of every stage of life together.
